June 26th has been designated as International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Today, society is plagued by the adverse effects of drug trafficking and drug abuse to a great extent. It is high time that we rise up and urge our youngsters to fight this social evil.
In order to create awareness about this issue, on June 27, 2016, we conducted an awareness programme at our school. During morning assembly, one of our staff members spoke to the students about the importance of staying alert. He explained the health hazards caused by the use of pan masala, tobacco, alcohol and various other drugs. Students took the pledge to stay away from such activities and to help others stay away from it. Teachers also created awareness by speaking to students about the harmful effects of drugs in their respective classes.
