Yoga for Life

Changes in our lifestyles have put a big question mark in front of us human beings regarding the state of our health. But, now we have found the solution to this problem – “YOGA”

From May 20 to May 31, 2016, we organised a yoga session at our school for our teachers and students. Shri. P. Bhaskaran who is a Civil Engineer by profession, was our instructor. He started his training in Yoga as early as 1983, and has been teaching yoga for over 30 years under the Patanjali ‘Yoga Samithi’. For the past three years he has also been conducting Yoga Mahotsav.

The session for the teachers was held in the prayer hall. They first went through a session on healthy lifestyles, followed by basic yogasanas. Sri Bhaskaran talked about the importance of breathing techniques and its positive effects. Breathing exercises, Pranayama and Surya Namaskara were the highlights of the entire session.

Students were also given training in some yogasanas by Bhaskaran Sir. He spent some time interacting with them, speaking to them about the do’s and don’ts during adolescence.
