The festival of Onam was celebrated at our school on August 31, 2015. The children were all dazzling in their coloured dresses. The day started with the decoration of pookkalom on the stage by 9th and 10th standard students. It was a treat for everyone’s eyes to see the beauty with which the pookkalam was arranged.
Later on in the day, boys competed with each other in the ‘uriyadi’ competition, which was appreciated tremendously by the younger students amid much fun and frolic. The afternoon was entertaining with the tigers in ‘Pulikali’, and the rhythm of the ‘chenda’ was the star attraction. The tug- of-war between students also was of great interest. The last event of the day was the musical chair competition. This beautiful day ended with the distribution of payasam to everyone in the school.
