AGRICULTURE DAY

This year’s State Level Agriculture Day programmes will be organised at the Kannur Police Grounds from 16th August to 26th August. As part of this, various programmes have been planned by the Agriculture Department at the state and district levels. Cash prizes and certificates will also be an added attraction.

As we all know, farmers are the backbone of our country. Every year, Chingam 1st is celebrated as ‘Agriculture Day’. As part of this celebration, agriculturists aim to bring awareness about school and home vegetable farming by conducting rallies, awareness classes for students and people in general, and conducting seminars and quizzes. All these programmes will be co-ordinated by the Agriculture Assistant Director.

The goal of these programmes is to bring about an ecological balance through conservation of wild life, soil and water. Agriculturists also aim at promoting organic farming in our country, i.e., cultivating vegetables without fertilisers.
