June 26th has been established as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by the United Nations. We all know that the world today is crushed under the weight of drug and alcohol abuse to a great extent. It is high time that the world is made aware of the ill-effects of this. For quite some time, people have been raising their voices against such evils in society. But, it is sad to note that even after so much hue and cry, we have not reached the goal of a drug and alcohol free India or world.
On this day, we, at our school took the oath during morning assembly to stay away from alcohol, drugs, tobacco, pan masala etc. We also pledged to try to keep our family and fellow citizens away from this evil as well. As our goal is to keep society clean, class teachers too brought awareness to the children about the evils of substance abuse.
