National Reading Day was celebrated on June 19th, Wednesday, at our school. The assembly was conducted with all preparations to celebrate the event. The chief guest Mr. P. Ajith, novelist and social reformer, inaugurated the function. Through his wonderful speech, he conveyed the powerful message, “Read and grow,” to the students. The welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Latha Ashok, and the vote of thanks was given by Ms. Prabheena. The children’s cultural programs were superb. Book reviews, speeches, group songs, and poem recitations were presented by the children. The importance of reading, even in the era of the internet, was emphasized through the event.
