Teachers Day and Onam Celebration 2019

On September 5th, we celebrated Onam and Teacher’s Day with a range of fun-filled activities. Onam which is the harvest festival of Kerala is celebrated by welcoming King Mahabali, while Teacher’s Day is celebrated on September 5th to mark the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former president of India.

The celebrations kick started with the Shanti mantra – Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu. Then a surprise gift in the form of the game Treasure Hunt organized by students of Class XII was presented to the teachers. The game was packed with joy with 25 teachers participating in it. A quiz organized by students of Class X was also conducted for the teachers. The prizes for the competitions was presented to the winning teachers by Principal Bri. Vidhya G.

Students from classes VI to XII danced to various songs of their choice as part of Onam celebration. At lunch time, a traditional Onam sadya was arranged in different classes. Students dressed up as King Mahabhali also arrived accompanied by pulikali and chenda melam. The game of Uriyadi was also conducted for the youngsters. The fun packed day finally came to an end after 7 hours at 4:00 pm.
