World Zoonoses Day was observed on July 6, 2018. As part of it, the Indian Veterinary Association, Kannur Unit organized a session at our school to educate our students about various diseases related to animals. Shri K.P. Mohanan, Former Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry inaugurated the session. The welcome address was given by Dr. P. Shaiji, President of IVA, Thalassery Taluk, and the presidential address was given by Dr. Sarika P., District Secretary of IVA, Kannur. Dr. Girish Babu MP, Dr. Sujan MP, Dr. Deepa A., State Executive Member, IVA, Dr. Sridhar Raj, President KGVOA, Thalassery Taluk, and Dr. Jeeja MP, Superintendent, Taluk Hospital offered felicitations.

Dr. Prasanth V., Asst. Director SLBP, Kannur conducted classes for students from Std. VIII to Std. XII. Students were given a detailed description of various animal borne diseases like rabies, Japan fever, bird flu, Nipah virus, etc. There was a detailed session on how animal borne diseases are spread, as well as TB. 

Students cleared a lot of doubts regarding animal borne diseases. Principal Bri. Vidhya presided over the session. Our faculty member, Mr. Saijan Kumar also spoke on the occasion and Mrs. Anupama Maroli gave the vote of thanks.
