INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2018

Our school observed International Yoga Day on June 21st. About 100 students from classes IX and X participated in the event which was conducted from 10 am to 11 am. Yoga teacher Ms. Anagha and Physical Education Instructor Ms. Dilna lit the lamp together and inaugurated the function. After Dhyana sloka, Yoga mentor Mr. Saijan Kumar who is also our Mathematics teacher delivered a speech on the importance of International Yoga Day. As per the directions from the Ministry of AYUSH and our Amrita Yoga Department, the following yogasanas were selected for the display – Chalana Kriyas (4 types), Trunk Twisting, Knee Bending, Amrita Surya Namaskara, Vrikshasana, Suktha Pavana Muktasana, Savasana, Meditation (Ma Om) and Shanti Mantra. All the exercises were repeated 3 times and students were immersed in the practice of Yoga for one hour.
