Our school observed International Yoga Day on 21st June. Altogether 100 students from classes IX and X participated in the event. We started the event with the lighting of the lamp at the lotus feet of Amma.
The inaugural session witnessed a speech on Yoga and its importance, followed by various Yoga practice sessions conducted under the guidance of our teachers, Sri Saijan Kumar and Ms. Shyma. The sessions started with Dhyana sloka and Veda mantra, followed by Chalana kriya, Trunk twisting, Knee bending, Amrita Suryanamaskara, Ardhabhujangana, Salabhasana, Savasana, and Ma-Om meditation. The entire session lasted for about half an hour, and students participated with utmost concentration and alertness, creating a sense of mental relaxation.
