Swachhta or ‘Cleanliness’ is a basic human value that has to be inculcated and constantly reinforced in our students. For this, students of our school have come up with various ideas and useful messages about maintaining personal hygiene and clean surroundings. In order to implement this, an art exhibition was conducted at our school in which students from classes I through XII participated enthusiastically. Students came up with various art forms such as collages, posters, pictures, representations and paintings. Students also put across messages through charts regarding good personal hygiene and sanitation. An art exhibition was conducted on the school premises, to which all the parents and students were invited.
Our school has also decided to conduct a mega art exhibition in the month of January to convey the objectives of the Swachhta mission to a larger mass. We have also put up a 5-point checklist outside every toilet about how to use toilets and how to practice good personal hygiene. Students of higher classes were divided house-wise and allotted the duty of monitoring the school premises, toilets and classrooms. Our school has found this undertaking very productive, and we hope that it will bring a change in our students’ perspective towards cleanliness and hygiene.
