December 3rd is observed as ‘World Disability Day’. On this day, our school conducted various programmes to generate awareness about the role of Inclusive Education in reducing discrimination and providing equitable opportunities for all. As for competitions, students from classes VI through VIII participated in poster making and slogan writing. The topic for poster making was “Empowerment of Person with Disability”, and the topic for slogan writing was “Prevention of Discrimination – Equitable Opportunities”. Elocution was conducted for classes IX and X. The topic was “Human Rights and Disabilities”. Altogether, sixty one students participated; they were very enthusiastic and actively took part in the programmes. It helped a lot in creating empathy towards those who are physically challenged.
