ENVIRONMENT DAY 2015

Our greatest concern today is our Environment. How to protect it is indeed the biggest question for which we all need to find answers. We at Amrita Vidyalayam, Kuthuparamba, believe that every individual plays an important role in conserving the environment.

On June 5th, 2015, our school entered the first phase of “Save the Environment” in collaboration with the Niravu Project (a Government of Kerala undertaking) proposed by Sri K.P. Mohanan, our Agricultural Minister, by distributing plantain saplings to our students.

The saplings which were given to us by Krishi Bhavan, were distributed to students from Class III to Class XII by the respective class teachers. The students were also given pamphlets instructing them about planting the saplings and how to care for them. It was indeed an overwhelming response that we got from our students who made sure that they planted the saplings according to the instructions. During the days that followed, a large number of students reported back to their class teachers about how and where they had planted the saplings.

The students were instructed to bring their first bunch of plantains to the school as we intend to sell the fruit and use the money collected for charitable activities.
