TRAINING ON TEACHING EXCELLENCE 2015

The teachers of Amrita Vidyalayam, Kuthuparamba, underwent a training programme on ‘Teaching Excellence’ on the 20th of May, 2015. The session was handled by Dr. K.K. Haridas, a veteran in handling such classes. The day started with lighting the lamp and chanting Amma’s prayer.

The teachers had two days of training on this topic. The session started with a discussion on focus and motivation which drives one towards excellence. Later on, topics like teachers’ perception of students and students’ perception of teachers were handled. Communication techniques and relationships were also dealt with. The seven strategies for teaching excellence gave a wider overview and an in-depth analysis of the whole scenario. It was a day where the teachers moved in and out of the lives of students and gained a fresh perspective on student- teacher relationships.

The second day was made interesting with activities revolving around visual, auditory and kinesthetic people. The importance of giving positive strokes to children was also discussed in the class. Teachers enjoyed the activities and worksheets, which gave them a finer view of the teaching profession.
