ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION 2014-15

On the 21st of February, 2015, our school witnessed Annual Day Celebration in our campus. Swami Amritakripananda Puri graced us with his benign presence on this auspicious occasion. Ms. Anju Das S., singer, (Amrita TV Super Star finalist and Kairali TV Gandharva Sangeetham semi-finalist), and Sri Rajendran Thayatt, dramatist, writer, actor and director, were the Guests of Honour. Ms. Athira K. and Mr. Adarsh S. T., our alumni, were the guests for the felicitation ceremony.

The 16th Annual Day Celebration started at 9:30 am with the lighting of the sacred lamp and prayer. Swamiji spoke to the parents and students, enlightening them. The guests of honour also conveyed their thoughts to the audience. Our Principal presented the annual report of the school, which was followed by sharing of experiences by our ex-students, Ms. Athira K. and Mr. Adarsh S. T. Students were awarded prizes for the various arts and sports events that they had participated in. Sreevarshini R. was awarded the prize for the topper in Arts Festival in the girls’ section, and Darshak M. Nambiar received the topper’s prize from the boys’ section. Rithika H. and Sanjeev P. S. received individual championships in the sports category. Among the four houses, the overall championship was awarded to Jyothirmayi house; Amritamayi house was the runner up. The Karshakasree and Mathrubhumi Aptitude Exam – 2015 prizes were also handed over on this occasion. Prizes were also awarded to teaching and non-teaching staff for various events held on Sports Day.

The inaugural ceremony ended with a wonderful musical presentation by our Chief Guest, Ms. Anju Das, and our senior students joined in by dancing to the beat of her song.

This year, the cultural fest for both KG and Vidyalayam sections were conducted together, and it was with great enthusiasm that our students participated in the celebrations. It was so precious and beautiful to watch our tiny tots from LKG and UKG dance to the rhythm of the music!

It was a meticulous blend of western and traditional dance when the seniors entered the stage. The days of hard work put in by the students and teachers, and the students’ will power was rewarded when the audience sat enthralled, watching them dance. The audience was mesmerised by the grace, elegance, beauty and talent of our children while they danced, acted in drama and mime, or sang songs to entertain others and themselves.
The Annual Day celebrations ended with the Shanti Mantra and the National Anthem. Truly, it was a day worth remembering!
